“The Hair Cut”

We have always kept Kai’s hair long.  I love his long locks, I was even envious of his amazing hair.  Each summer we say to eachother we are going to give him a mohawk as the boys sweats like crazy.  Since the begining of this blog its been getting shorter.  This past Saturday was the breaking point for my little man.  One Starbucks visit, a blowup bouncy slide at his school spring fling and a nearly 95 degree soccer game was the breaking point.  The kid could barely move to kick the ball, which he loves.  By the end of the game he was drenched and fussy.  We made a direct drive to a local kids hair place and our 5 year old received what will now and forever be called “The Hair Cut”.  Why you ask… well…

1. Its short.  I mean, this is going back to begining hair stages short.  I have not seen it this short since like 1 year.

2. Its drastic.   It has completely changed him.  He was tall for his age anyway thanks to some amazing and wonderful Grandads but now he looks like an 8 year old.

3.  My son now asks to borrow my green tea hair gel.  (there are numerous things wrong with this sentence)

So this is me, coming to terms with the fact that my cute 2 year old is nearly 6.  This is me needing to understand that its cool that he his becoming independent and though I love that he is growing, this is part of me realizing that soon I need to let him tie his own shoe.  I have done a good job thus far and commend his dad and I for a job well done.  Its funny how many thoughts go through my mind with just a hair cut.  He is a big kid now.

Ladies and Gents, I bring to you, The Fohawk.
